JK Rowling Finish Second Detective Novel
Harry Potter fans can rejoice as their favorite author has finished her second crime novel. JK Rowling, author of the immensely successful Harry Potter series has finished her second novel under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The book is entitled The Silkworm and is due to be published on the 19th of June.
Cormoran Strike, the private detective and main hero of the first novel called The Cuckoo’s Calling will again be featured as well as his assistant Robin Ellacott. According to unconfirmed reports, the private detective will be investigating a killer accused of the murder of writer Owen Quine.
The teaser also builds tension adding the somewhat uncomfortable circumstances of Mr Quine’s death as well as his wife’s struggle to come to terms with his passing. The book is fast paced and shows Detective Strike’s race to understand the reasons behind the murder and catch the responsible criminal.
Rowling initially tried to hide behind the pseudonym Robert Galbraith to avoid certain preconceptions readers might have had due to her popular Harry Potter novels. She was unmasked almost a year ago via Twitter.
The author said she enjoyed writing without any pressure and expectations and that she appreciated the sincere feedback she received as Galbraith. Rowling said it reminded her of the beginnings of her career, adding that she would have wanted the mystery to last longer.
