Russia Wants To Cooperate With The West In Ukraine Crisis
Russian foreign minister said via a press release that his is prepared to work with the West when it comes to putting an end to the Ukrainian crisis that has killed dozens of people and left the country’s institutions in shambles. The press release also mentioned that the interests of all Ukrainians must be thought of, even the Russian minorities in the south and east while specifying that any agreed upon resolution must also be implemented and carried out.
After former President Viktor Yanukovich has been released from office, Russia has consistently accused the new Ukrainian leaders of violating the peace act backed by Western powers and signed by the Ukrainian opposition thus ignoring the wishes of a large part of its citizens, especially the large Russian enclaves in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
Russia, through foreign minister Alexander Lukashevich also accused Western states of refusing to intervene in the Ukrainian crisis before it reached alarming levels of violence. Lukashevich added that regardless of the West’s reluctance to intervene, Russia is prepared to cooperate as long as all sides agree to implement the agreed upon decisions.
Lukashevich also added that NATO’s interference can do more bad than good saying that the western powerhouse is trying to make decisions for the Ukrainian people.
