Hold On Inspiration Revealed By 50 Cent
The latest single of 50 Cent “Hold On: was inspired by EPMD, a rap duo from the 1980s. This was revealed by the star in an interview recently. He indicated he was listening to EPMD’s “You Gots To Chill' when he wrote the lead single on his Animal Ambition LP that is expected to be released by June 3.
“You Gots To Chill' was created by the rap duo from New York in 1988 after combing samples from Zapp and Kool & the Gang. It was a rap single that encouraged listeners to relax. Although the “Hold On” single of 50 Cent has a similar sentiment, it tells listeners to relax while waving a gun.
He said he was looking to match the energy and tempo in the song since these were the things he was enamored with when he started to love hip-hop. The star added that he was looking for something else to reflect it since it was not reflective of the things currently happening in the present culture.
The “Hold On” single is the lead track on the upcoming project of the G-Unit MC. The star is looking forward to releasing new videos and records each week prior to the release of the project.
The meaning behind each track will be revealed by 50 Cent in an upcoming interview on the SIRIUS XM radio station that will be aired on March 31. He will give an explanation on the reason why he lured James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond. Rosemond is currently in prison due to drug trafficking charges.
EPMD was the ideal guide for the star since he wanted to make the record sound sonically right. “Hold On” was created perfectly and it will show 50 Cent telling listeners to relax instead of chilling.
