Original Star Wars Cast Joins Newcomers On Set

The bulk of the original Star Wars cast appears to be returning for the seventh installment of George Lucas’ immensely popular science fiction movie Star Wars. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher returned to the London based set of Episode VII as a Lucasfilm and Disney announcement confirmed this Tuesday.

The three will be joined by other original cast members such as Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker. They will star alongside new additions like John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac. Other important names like Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow will be joining the cast in London where shooting will start next month.

Director J.J. Abrams said that seeing the talented new additions along with the legendary former cast members together gave him a surreal sense of excitement. The three will be reprising their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia while Daniels, Baker and Mayhew will also be returning as C-3PO, R2D2 and Chewbacca. Unconfirmed reports say that Driver and von Sydow will most likely be playing the villains of the new series.

Episode VII was written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan and is produced by Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and Bryan Burk. The long awaited movies is scheduled to be released on the 18th of December 2015.
