Think Czech Republic For Late Summer Vacation
If you are thinking of taking a late summer or early autumn vacation then you should know that Eastern Europe is one of the most beautiful and affordable destinations available, particularly the Czech Republic.
In fact, a recent new attraction has been opened for the public as the eastern city of Kromeriz has regained the look of a 300 year old UNESCO World Heritage garden. A virtual travel back in time experience, the garden was carefully restored to look exactly like it did back in 1675 when it was first completed. The fountains, Greek and Roman mythological sculptures, lemon trees, Dutch bulb gardens as well as the fish ponds and rabbit hill have all regained their former use and appearance in a restoration effort that lasted over half a century.
The first restoration stared in the 1950s but things took off in 1998 as the garden and nearby chateau were added to UNESCO patronage. Currently, the rest of the restoration effort is being funded by the European Union, and is being based on the 1691 copper plates that specified how each section of the garden should look like.
The Czech Republic as a whole and its stunning capital city of Prague offer a unique glimpse into the glorious baroque times, with tentatively restored architecture, charming cobble stone streets and a hauntingly beautiful countryside.
