“Mad Max” Trailer Shows Action But Too Little Substance
The new trailer for “Mad Max: Fury Road” shows a new level of special effects, a lot of the anticipated action and of course the star studded cast but does it really contain anything more than that? The new addition to the original trilogy which was released nearly 30 years ago certainly got the cast right with Charlize Theron playing a no-nonsense extremely violent leader while Tom Hardy convinces in Mel Gibson’s former role of Max Rockatansky.
The trailer has certainly pleased some fans as the sci-fi film set in dystopian Australia is considered a cult classic, followed closely by millions of people worldwide. The movie has the same premise, as former highway patrol cop Max Rockatansky a.k.a. Mad Max has to deal with the numerous gangs that fight for Australia’s precious water and oil resources.
Without revealing too much of the plot, “Mad Max: Fury Road” will have Max meeting a group of refugees led by Theron’s character Imperator Furiosa, who actually shaved her head in order to give her role as much credibility as possible.
For the delight of millions of diehard fans, George Miller, the director of the previous three movies in the franchise will also helm this new installment. Other cast members include Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Angus Sampson.
