Taiwanese TransAisa plane Flight GE 235 crashes in Keelung River Near Taipai
TransAisa plane ATR-72 has crashed in Taipei river near the capital Taiwan. This incident happened shortly after the TransAisa Flight GE 235 clipped off a bridge a few minutess after take-off.
According to TVBS local media, at least 10 injured people were taken to the hospital; overall some 40 people were injured. It is not yet confirmed how people the plane was carrying but it estimated to have about 53 passengers and 5 airline crew members.
The plane had taken off from the Taipai Songshan Airport destined towards Kinmen Island which is south-east of China. The crash happened around 10:55am local time.
The plane was a turbo propeller twin-engine, French made ATR-72.
In July 2014, another TransAisa plane had crashed while trying to land on the Penghu Island airport just off Taiwan's coast.
