Lumia 735 Offered Through Verizon At Less Than $200
The Lumia 735 of Microsoft is the ideal smartphone for people who are more inclined to taking selfies than simply taking pictures of other people. This new smartphone will enter the market through Verizon at a price tag of under $200.
The smartphone features a 5MP camera in front along with a 6.7MP camera at the back that can be easily aligned to the face of the user. It also comes with the Lumia Selfie application. The smartphone also comes with the Lumia Denim firmware, which facilitates the taking of quick shots.
The Lumia 735 smartphone will be offered by Verizon at $192 or around $8 for a 24 month payment period through Verizon Edge. It can be shipped to the buyer next month if it is pre-ordered today. A one-year subscription to MS Office 365 Personal was also added by Verizon, which essentially gives it an extra $70 value. When the smartphone was announced by Microsoft last fall, the software giant expected a price tag of around $288 for the device.
The Lumia 735 is basically a variant of the Lumia 830, which is creating its own niche in the market as the affordable flagship of the Lumia range of devices. Aside from the emphasis on taking selfies, the new smartphone has no other notable features. It is made up of a good combination of both low and mid-range components.
The new Lumia smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch OLED screen with a 1280 by 720 resolution and sunlight readability enhancements as well as its own high brightness mode. It also features a 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and the 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor from Qualcomm. Its 2200mAh battery can be removed and it weighs around 134 grams. The smartphone can also support the XLTE network of Verizon.
Buyers of the device also have the option of getting the wireless charging docks offered by Microsoft for the device at $25, but it can be charged using a wired charger. In order to keep its price down, Microsoft limited the features of the Lumia 735 to the things that users normally use, browse the internet, run some apps and take selfies.
