Jon Hamm Separates From Jennifer Westfeldt
Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt have called it quits after being together for nearly two decades. The announcement comes after the representative of the 44-year-old actor denied reports of a breakup.
The two stars revealed in a statement that they were sad in their decision to separate after being together for eighteen years. The statement also indicated that they will continue to support each other in any possible way moving forward.
The Mad Men alumni and the actress started seeing each other in 1997. The last time they were photographed together in public was on July 22 during the after party of the New York premiere of the latest acting project of Hamm, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.”
The premiere of the Netflix series came after the completion of a rehab stint of Jon Hamm. A representative of the actor said Hamm successfully completed his treatment for alcohol addiction with the support of Jennifer Westfeldt. The former couple had collaborated with each other a number of times in the past. They were a part of the movies “Kissing Jessica Stein” and “Ira & Abby,” where Westfeldt was also a writer. The two stars also worked together on “Friends With Kids,” which was written and directed by Westfeldt.
Hamm had hinted earlier at possible joint projects in the future after he said in June that the two of them are thinking of a number of projects together
Hamm discussed his personal relationship with Westfeldt during an interview in 2012. He also hinted at the possibility that he will start a family with his partner.
He said they saw a good number of their friends becoming parents, and it is not easy to think that they should have no children. Jon Hamm added that he may not be the “driving force” in having a baby, but he is committed to their relationship and he does not rule out starting a family.
