Tennessee Football Player Sustains Serious Head Injury

A Tennessee football player was critically-injured at the game of Siegel High School against Warren County High School. Baylor Bramble was brought to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center after he sustained a head injury in the 44-14 win of Siegel High School.

The junior cornerback went through an emergency surgery to reduce the pressure on his brain, according to Siegel High School football coach Greg Wyant. The game was the first start of the career of the 5-foot-8 Bramble, which was also the first win of the Stars against the Pioneers in the season.

Wyant said when Bramble went out of the field in the fourth quarter, he said his hurt was hurting. Wyant added it became worse after this.

The trainer examined the Tennessee football player before he was put in an ambulance that brought him to the McMinnville Municipal Airport. He was later flown into Nashville. Siegel High School assistant coach Jason Pitts said he did not see Bramble getting hit on the head during the game. He added that he did not see any questionable contact during the game after reviewing the film a number of times.

A prayer vigil was sponsored by Siegel High School and media did not attend the vigil out of respect for the request of the family. A number of incidents have rocked the Siegel community throughout the season.

Mason Loupe, another Siegel football player, died after getting shot in the head in September. In the same week, football player Caleb Victory suffered a head injury that forced him to undergo rehabilitation in Atlanta. James Evans of the Rutherford County Schools said a counselor team will be sent to the school to provide support for the students, teachers and administrators.

However, Wyant said he will be concentrating on Bramble and his family. He said everything is about Baylor and his family for the moment and he is not concerned about the Siegel community. He is more concerned about the Tennessee football player and his family, and it is necessary to provide support and pray for them.
