Leonardo DiCaprio wins Best actor award at Golden Globes 2016

Leonardo DiCaprio was announced the winner of the best actor in a film, drama category for the movie 'The Revenant' in Golden Globes Awards 2016. The awards are being held at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The actor got a standing ovation from the crowd as he received his second Golden Globe in three years.

In his speech, DiCaprio said , "Wow! Thank you. What an incredible honour. This film was about survival, the triumph of the human spirit, but more than anything about trust. I have never had an experience like this in my entire life. I know he would never bury me alone and leave me out in the cold like that."

He further in his speech, “I want to share this award with all the First Nation People represented in this film and all the indigenous communities around the world. It is time that we recognize your history and that we protect your indigenous lands and corporate interests.”

Leonardo DiCaprio also paid tribute to the director of The Revenant, Alejandro G Inarritu and his friend and British co-star Tom Hardy.
