Release Date For New Doom Video Game Set
The international launch of the long-awaited new Doom video game is set on May 13, Bethesda announced recently. On its launch date, the new game will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition to the announcement, the company also released a campaign trailer for the upcoming game.
While a beta for the game is also set to be held prior to the launch, the specific date when the beta will start remains uncertain for the moment. A representative from Bethesda revealed that details about the beta for the upcoming video game are set to be released at a later date.
The company also announced an upcoming Doom collector’s edition, which will feature a 12-inch statue of the Revenant. The centerpiece of the collector’s edition was manufactured by TriForce. Actual game files Triforce received from the software company were used in creating the figure. This ensures the figure in the collection looks like the character in the game itself. The figure stands on a base featuring LED lights. Gamers who purchase the collector’s edition of the new Doom video game will receive a copy of the game inside a metal case. The price tag of the collector’s edition is $120.
Preorder bonuses were also announced by Bethesda for Doom recently. The Demon Multiplayer Pack will be given to buyers who preorder the shooter. The pack comes with a demon armor set featuring six paint colors, three skin variations and three ID software patterns that can be used on the weapons and armor. The pack also features six “hack modules” or consumable items players can use in the game to give them an advantage inside the arena.
After Bethesda a Doom reboot based on the Call of Duty game failed in the market, the company decided to start all over again and used a traditional approach in the development of the new Doom video game.
