Nvidia Shield Devices To Receive Square Enix Games

The Nvidia Shield is set to receive a number of popular games from Square Enix. One of the five titles to be released is Tomb Raider. It is currently available through a GeForce Now game monthly subscription of $7.99. It is limited to Shield tablet or set-top box owners. Unlimited streaming of over eighty games is allowed by the platform.

Other games set to be released are Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Sleeping Dogs, and Quantum Conundrum. Rise of the Tomb Raider is a follow-up to the extremely popular Tomb Raider. The game was released to PCs, Xbox 360 and Xbox One last month. However Gabriela Zamora of PCMag said the game play of the new game was similar to its predecessor. This means owners of the Shield device may not miss out on anything.

The new Nvidia Shield Tablet was given the Editors’ Choice award by PCMag when it was released into the market in 2014. The device was considered as among the best tablet evaluated by the magazine when it comes to graphics performance. The device is also one of the first mobile devices featuring the Tegra K1 CPU. The magazine also said gamers may want to take into consideration the Shield Android TV. The latest version of the device was released together with GRID in May 2015. GRID is the precursor of the GeForce Now video game streaming subscription.

One of the biggest concerns of owners of the two Nvidia devices is the limited number of games available for them when compared to other mobile devices, such as the PlayStation Vita Slim and the Nintendo 3DS XL. But, the recent announcement of Nvidia may deal with this concern with the addition of games from Square Enix.

Nvidia revealed that the GeForce Now subscription will offer over 80 games to subscribers, who can immediately play them on their Nvidia Shield devices. GRID was offered free of charge for a good part of last year. This year, the GeForce Now subscription offers new users three months of free gaming on their Nvidia Shield devices before the monthly fee is collected.
