A recent study has revealed that whiter teeth correlate with greater success
The study, commissioned by Crest Whitestrips, revealed that both socially and professionally, people with whiter smiles felt more confident and were thought of differently by other people. The test involved a number of scenarios designed to assess the impact of teeth whitening, with participants taking art in social dates, job interviews, and a quantitative survey. More than half received a larger salary offer and almost 60% were more likely to be hired than those who hadn’t whitened their teeth.
Individuals were questioned about their own perceptions of the importance of personal appearance. The majority indicated that they felt whiter smiles, and a well-groomed appearance in general, were key indicators of professional and financial success, as well as trustworthiness. Almost 70% of participants agreed that having whiter teeth was a strong indicator of current success and the potential for future achievement. These findings were irrespective of gender, age, education, income, and other factors.
