Acid Sprays: New tool of Afghan terrorists

Officials reported on Thursday that a group of armed men attacked and sprayed an Afghan family with acid after the father refused a man’s proposal in marrying his teenage daughter.

According to witnesses in Kunduz province, armed men broke into their house and attacked the teenage girl of about 18 years of age, her two sisters and their mother and father.

Victims of said attack received immediate medical treatment after the incident, medical officials said. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old teenager is in critical condition and her father is still attended with medical care, according to Dr. Abdul Shokoor Rahimi.

Further, according to Nadera Geya, head of the women’s affairs of the Kunduz province, just a month ago, a gunman proposed marriage to a teenager but the family also refused his offer and instead the family engaged her to a relative. And few days after, another group of armed men did the same strategy but this time, they poured acid over the girl, her other siblings and their parents.

Currently authorities learned that acid is now a famous tool used by gunmen and terrorist groups in the area. Also three years ago, men in motorbikes likewise sprayed acid on 15 school girls in the province of Kandahar.
