Adrian Peterson Holds Himself Responsible For Loss

While the eighth fumble of Adrian Peterson was the most damaging, it was similar to a number of the previous blunders of the running back during the year. Peterson got a first down in the fourth quarter on an eight-yard pass from Teddy Bridgewater. But, as he was attempting to get some extra yards, Kam Chancellor of the Seattle Seahawks was able to punch the ball loose. This resulted to a turnover that benefitted Seattle resulting to a field goal as they won over the Minnesota Vikings, 10-9.

Peterson said he already had a first down and was thinking of getting some extra yards. He added that it was a situation when he should have held onto the ball. Peterson also said in that situation, you are hoping the defense can give them another chance.

This was the fourth lost fumble of Adrian Peterson for the season, and it will linger in the mind of the rushing leader of the league for a long time. On Sunday, Peterson was limited to 45 yards on twenty-three carries. His longest run was limited to 13 yards against the same team that limited him to 18 years in a total of eight carries over a month ago.

He said he had a good amount of responsibility for the loss and the last field goal will haunt him since he was an inch away from getting a first down. He underscored the fact that he is holding himself responsible for the loss.

The loss is the fourth in five playoff games in the career of the running back. Peterson became the third running back to win the rushing title of the NFL in his 30s. He is expected to be in the frontline of the offense of the Minnesota Vikings as the team plays its first season at the US Bank Stadium. The new $1.1 billion stadium will be the venue for the defense of the NFC North title of the Vikings.

Adrian Peterson made a bold announcement at the end of his last press conference at the TCF Bank Stadium. He said he feels they will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs next year.
