Aidan Gillen To Star In Maze Runner Sequel

According to yet unconfirmed reports Aiden Gillen from Game of Thrones fame got the part of the main villain in the recently announced Fox sequel to “The Maze Runner” that will be called “The Scorch Trials.” Aiden Gillen is an Irish actor with years of experience and several memorable roles including Mayor Carcetti in the cult classic HBO show “The Wire.” The sequel will have Gillen play the antagonist Janson, also known as Rat-Man, the main antagonist of the remaining Maze Runner books.

The first movie saw Thomas, played by Dylan O'Brian waking up in a gigantic maze along with a group of other young boys. Thomas realizes that he and all the others are trapped in this giant maze with no recollection of any previous events other than knowledge on the existence of an organization known as W.C.K.D.

The movie is made after the extremely popular novel by James Dashner. Thomas realizes that the only way to get out of the maze is to piece whatever fragments he remembers with clues and other events that happen inside the maze. Fox approved a sequel just a week after the first part hit theaters. The movie quickly rose to the number one spot at the weekend box office earning an impressive $32.5 million in the U.S. alone. The movie stars Dylan O'Brian, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen and Wull Poulter.
