Amazon Dash Buttons Introduced By Online Retail Giant
The Amazon Dash Buttons was launched by the online shopping giant recently. The new device is a follow up to the remote scanning device the company launched a year ago. Around twenty years ago, the company facilitated sales through a one-click ordering system that allow users to simply click a button on its website to buy anything. However, recent developments have made ordering easier.
The latest development has brought technology into the real world. The predecessor of the new device, the Dash, requires customers to scan a product or say its name through a built-in microphone in order to order a product from Amazon. However, the new device facilitates ordering of products through a simple click of a button.
The new device may be aimed at consumers who opt to shop at a local grocery instead of ordering through Amazon. The company has gradually introduced a number of features that encourage consumers to order through Amazon, including the use of item subscription wherein products are delivered to customers in regular intervals at discounted prices. The company has also increased its product range and is set to offer a drone delivery service.
The new Amazon Dash Button is aimed at increasing the appeal of ordering simple items, such as coffee and paper towels, through Amazon. Each device is designed for a specific item and can be taped or hung with a hook in an area where the items are stored. Eighteen buttons will be initially offered by the company.
The Dash service is also set to be offered to product manufacturers. Whirlpool, Brita and Brother Printers are among the first companies to integrate the system to facilitate ordering of their respective products. The integration of the technology will allow companies to deliver items that are nearly used up in a home, without having the homeowner to do anything.
Amazon revealed that the buttons will be given to consumers for free. For the moment, the Amazon Dash Buttons are given through invitations, and will be sent to customers in the coming week.
