Angry Birds Star Wars II Released By Rovio

Angry Birds Star Wars II was released recently by Rovio for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone 8 devices. The Finnish game developer indicated that the latest game offers a huge lineup of new characters for players to use. It also features new powers, levels and game play.

The game is in line with the story of the three Star Wars prequel movies. The iconic characters of the three movies will also have Angry Bird versions in the game. These characters include the young Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul and Jango Fett. Players of the recently-released game will also have the opportunity to play an evil pig by joining the “Pork Side.”

The Telepods technology of Hasbro will also be used for the game. The technology provides an additional interactive layer for content and game play. A physical character can be teleported into the game if players choose to use them in the application by using this technology.

Players can also unlock new superpowers and characters by scanning the Telepods physical characters into the application using the camera of tablet of phone. Over thirty figures are available in the game for players to purchase.

Rovio EVP for Games Jami Laes said that Angry Birds Star Wars II brings together Stars Wars and Angry Birds in a unique fashion that gives players different popular characters in the light and dark side of the Force. Laes added the investment of the company for its longevity was significant, and a number of updates are expected to be released in the coming months.

An official Angry Birds Star Wars II game play trailer was also released by the company together with the game.
