Apple to fix anti-reflective screen coating issues in MacBook Pro Retina

It is good news and a sigh of relief for MacBook and MacBook Pro owners who had been having issues with the newly introduced anti-reflective coating on their retina displays. In some cases, the coating had started to peel off in pieces and different shapes and in some cases, it even come off completely. It is rumoured that Apple will be addressing this issue aggressively to replace the affected models of Macbook Pros. The company will allow free replacement of Macbooks for upto 3 years from purchase date or within a year of purchase if done after October 16th, 2015, which happens to be a longer duration. Refunds may also be available on demand through the Apple Care Support for owners not satisfied with a replacement. Apple wants to show that it cares about its customers.

Anti-Reflective Coating Issue plaguing the Retina Macbook Pro

These screen coating issues will be addressed by the Quality Program being launched by Apple. It must be noted that this program has not been officially announced yet.

People who have already paid Apple, in case, their warranty policy did not cover for repairs, will given made full refunds. We do not know for sure when this program would officially begin, however, it would be plausible to say that sometime post Oct 16th, 2015 since that is the start of the coverage date. All Macbook owner with screen coating issues should contact AppleCare Support or Genius Bar at any Apple Store.
