Asus Padfone X Teased At Computex

Participants of the Computex got a glimpse of an upcoming tablet-phone hybrid from Asus that is expected to reach the US market by June 6, the Asus Padfone X.

The company initially teased viewers with videos showing a phone, tablet and laptop. The video series later asked whether it will blend. This led participants to conclude that the company will be releasing its latest Padfone device into the market.

Although the video included a laptop, the upcoming addition to the Padfone lineup of the company will only combine a tablet and phone. It will be a full-featured five-inch smartphone that come with a Qualcomm processor. The smartphone will also function as the brains of the nine-inch tablet.

The price tag of the latest addition to the Padfone lineup of Asus is at $200 in addition to a service plan. It can also be acquired at a monthly fee of around $23 for a period of 18 months. It will be available through AT&T.

Since the Asus Padfone X does not come with a keyboard, industry watchers think that the company will offer a separate keyboard accessory or a protective case that can be used as a keyboard.

The Asus Padfone X will be delivered together with the mobile dock. The device may be used as a notebook when it is attached to the mobile dock and a keyboard is added to the mix. The teaser showed some video manipulation, it led the participants of the Computex to believe that the upcoming tablets of the company will feature photo manipulation applications. It may also include applications that will send images into a TV screen from the tablet.

It remains uncertain what the upcoming Asus Padfone X has to offer but industry watchers are expecting everything to become clear when the company will hold a press conference on June 2.
