Bahamas Considered as Perfect Tourist Destination
Hundreds of attendees representing the higher ups of the Caribbean tourism industry attended the 30th annual Caribbean Marketplace marking the highlight of the industry calendar in the region.
After two days of hard work, it was time for the delegates to relax the spectacular evening while witnessing the closing ceremony at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas.
The event this year celebrated the record of 350 buyers from 18 countries in the world. The event, which focuses on the significance of tourism to the Caribbean, started with the exceptionally spectacular opening ceremony last Sunday.
Josef Forstmayr, president of hosts Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), pointed out that there should be a strong bond of understanding between the leaders and the public so that the travel and tourism industry will receive its full support as the Caribbean’s most important industry.
He added that tourism and industry is the fastest way of generating jobs for the people and making the economy grow which would also advantaged the country’s overall economy. This industry needs the support of the citizenry whether or not they are directly working in the industry.
But in order to be more helpful to the economy, there must be some hard work to deal with too. To start with, the InterContinental Hotels Group discussed its plan to push its Holiday Inn brand into the Caribbean earlier in the day.
Furthermore, the recently launched Holiday Inn Resort Aruba and the soon-to-open Holiday Inn Resort Bridgetown, Barbados started their business in the region.
