Gone are the days when Baltimore was associated with poverty and the gritty scenes from “The Wire. ” Today the city is partly hipster Mecca partly tourists destination with numerous interesting pubs, museum and flea markets attracting both locals and tourists.

The neighborhood of Hampden is where boutiques and eateries meet hipster orientated pubs and bars. The neighborhood celebrated its young and diverse crowd with a strong nightlife and numerous attractions. It is the perfect place to check out some of the most amazing vintage shops and taste some classic American dishes with the local Baltimore twist.

Fells Point is another popular neighborhood in Baltimore that combines a historic center with beautiful old buildings and several tourist friendly locations that boast an impressive numbers of cafe’s antiquities shops or souvenir shops, not to mention water taxis.

Another popular must-see place in Baltimore is the Edgar Alan Poe museum. While Poe was born in Boston and lived among other places in Philadelphia or Virginia, Baltimore claims to be his spiritual home as well as the place the poet died.

The Poe House and Museum is comprised of a small brick house where the late poet lived with his grandmother and aunt. The museum tells the interesting story of Poe’s life through its many personal objects like Poe’s portable desk or telescope.
