Barcelona Wins El Clasico Sunday With A Luis Suarez Goal
Barcelona claimed a 2-1 victory during the El Clasico on Sunday over Read Madrid. The trademark finish of Luis Suarez allowed Barcelona to increase its lead in the La Liga to four points. Suarez beat Iker Casillas on the 56th minute after controlling a perfect Dani Alves through ball.
Barcelona scored first with a header by Jeremy Mathieu coming from a pin point free kick from Lionel Messi. However, Cristiano Ronaldo leveled the count as he scored his 31st goal for the season. Ronaldo had a chance earlier to make a goal but it hit the crossbar. Karim Benzema gave a perfect back heel assist to Ronaldo for the goal that raised the spirits of the visitors, who dominated the game following the goal.
Gareth Bale was able to find the back of the net but his goal was not counted due to an offside call. Near the start of the second half, Claudio Bravo had to work hard to save a near-goal by Benzema, who demonstrated his skills with a notable passing exchange with Ronaldo.
However, Suarez quickly doused the spirits of Real Madrid after he scored his eighth goal in nine games. The morale of Real Madrid was further dampened by Neymar, who appeared to make up for a miss following the opening goal of Mathieu as he demonstrated his football skills in the game.

Both Messi and Ronaldo did not seem to be at their best despite the goal and assist of the players for their respective teams. The match may be the deciding game for the La Liga title. Barcelona is currently favored to reclaim the title after it only lost one game in its last nineteen matches. The current run of the team is considered its best since it was defeated in the first El Clasico in the Bernabeu.
With its defeat in the El Clasico Sunday, Real Madrid will try to narrow the gap while defending its Champions League title as it goes up against Atletico, the defending La Liga champion.
