Ben Woolf Passes Away At 34

Ben Woolf, who was a part of the cast of “American Horror Story,” passed away at 34 in Los Angeles. His death was due to complications to a stroke he suffered after being hit by a car, according to his publicist.

The actor was hit by the side-view mirror of a vehicle at around 9 PM on Monday, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Sara Faden. Faden added that the driver did not leave the scene, which was not considered a crime by the police department. She added that it was an unfortunate accident.

Benjamin Eric Woolf was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and grew up in Iowa before he moved to California in 2010, where he pursued a career as an actor. The family of Mr. Woolf issued a statement indicating that they were overwhelmed by the support for Ben from all around the world. The family added that Ben Woolf touched many hearts throughout his entire life and his memory will live within everyone and within the entertainment industry.

Mr. Woolf, who was four feet and four inches, was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism. He is well-known for the roles he played on “American Horror Story.” The Emmy-nominated FX series features an ensemble cast and has different characters, settings, and story for every season. Among the settings of the series were a 1950s carnival freak show, a witches’ coven, a 1960s mental hospital with numerous extraterrestrials and demons, and a haunted house.

Ben Woolf played the role of Infantata, a homicidal ghost of a baby who was turned into a monster by his parents, in the first season. In the fourth season, he took the role of Meep a sideshow performer who had the tendency of biting off the heads of live animals. He was described as an inspirational person by the co-creator of the series, Ryan Murphy.


A recently-released interview showed Mr. Woolf recalling the challenges facing people with dwarfism. He revealed that people do not give him “the value” he deserved. Despite this, he learned to simply ignore it and perform to the best of his abilities.

Zack Teperman, the publicist of Mr. Woolf, said he leaves behind his siblings and parents, who would not want to have their names published. Teperman also revealed that Mr. Woolf was a preschool teacher before pursuing his acting career. Ben Woolf revealed in the video interview that he loved teaching since he felt living in a different world without rules and full of imagination when he was with children.
