Best Products for Dry Skin
Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful glowing skin. You'll hear it time and time again, but only because it's true! The winter months are coming and I know how rough they can be for girls with dry skin. To help you guys out a little I'm giving my tried and true recommended products for girls with dry skin.
Face Wash
Let's start with the basics. If you're using a harsh soap on your face then it won't matter how much moisturizer you use afterwards. These soaps strip your skin of all it's natural oil and cause your face to feel dry and tight even after moisturizing. A good gentle face wash will remove all the dirt and makeup from your face and never leave it feeling itchy or dry. Here are 2 of my absolute favorites.
- Fresh Soy Face Cleanser- I adore this cleanser because of how gentle and effective it is. It doesn't lather up but trust me when I say it's going to remove even the most stubborn makeup. It never leaves skin feeling tight or dry.
- First Aid Beauty Cleanser- I think this cleanser is super underrated. It lathers up really nicely if you prefer that and it takes off all my makeup. I've been using this one for 2 months and it always leaves my skin feeling soft and clean
Toner
All right so I will say that toner is something you can skip but you shouldn't. Basically it's an extra step that takes off anything your face wash left behind. The right toner will also add extra moisture to your skin. If you are shopping for a toner then please make sure it is alcohol free so that it doesn't dry you out. For now I have only found one that really works for me.
- Belief Witch Hazel Toner- I was not a fan of toner before I started using this one, but I have loved it from the first time I used it. It takes off any left over dirt or makeup very easily. It is also a very moisturizing toner and leaves my skin super soft after I use it
Moisturizer
This is a big one. I know it can be super difficult to find the right moisturizer for dry skin. I have done a lot of trial and error myself and these are the ones I always come back to
- First Aid Beauty Ultra Intense Hydration- This is an ultra hydrating moisturizer for the driest of the dry. I have excessively dry skin so I use it year round and it keeps me super hydrated all day. This can also be used as a body cream and in some mild cases of eczema. If you're looking for an affordable option that really works then this is for you!
- Belief Moisturizing Bomb- This stuff is magical. Every time I use it my skin feels like velvet and it stays that way all day. It's a sort of gel like consistency but it's extremely hydrating. Like the First Aid, this is for people with very dry skin.
- Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Cream- This is a great cream for those who aren't super dry but still want good hydration. It is a little weight moisturizer that is great for day time use. I will say it has a slight cucumber scent in case you're someone who prefers no fragrance.
- Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream- This is a wonderful cream for any skin type. It is a similar consistency to the belief cream and gives your skin the same velvety soft hydrated feel. It contains hyaluronic acid which is a wonderful ingredient that keeps skin looking plump and hydrated.
There you have it ladies! These are the basics that will keep your dry skin looking soft and hydrated through the winter and year round. Of course there are extras like serums and masks which I hope to post about soon as well.
