“Big Bang Theory” Producer Reveals Acceptance Speech
The producer of the “Big Bang Theory” already had an acceptance speech for the Prime Time Emmy Awards last Sunday. Chuck Lorre was already prepared for the best result for the CBS series about a group of nerds, which was in the running for best comedy.
The season seven premiere was used by the executive producer and co-creator of the show to reveal his acceptance speech. The speech would have been given if the series won the best comedy Emmy. Lorre posted an image of the speech instead of the usual vanity card, which would have numbered over four hundred. He called the image "The Emmy Speech That Stayed in My Pocket."
Lorre reminded himself to breathe through the prepared speech. He also thanked the “Big Bang Theory” cast, crew, TV Academy, Steve Molaro and Bob Newhart. Newhart became a guest star of the show. He played Professor Proton, which gave him his first Emmy award.
The show became the top scripted comedy for the 18 to 49 demographic during the sixth season. This was attributed to the syndicated airing over TBS. The show received three nominations in the past for best comedy. However, it has not won an Emmy yet. “Modern Family” of ABC received the award for the category last Sunday.
Jim Parsons copped the award for lead comedy actor last Sunday. The Emmy was the third that the star received for the category. The show received three Emmy nominations last Sunday. Aside from Parsons and Newhart, Mayrim Bialik also received a nomination for supporting actress in a comedy. However, the “Big Bang Theory” star lost to Merritt Wever of “Nurse Jackie.”
