Bill Belichick Talks About The Aaron Hernandez Case

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick talked to the press for almost half an hour on the beginning day of training camp, touching on a number of subjects especially on the Aaron Hernandez case.

He started with a prepared speech and then took questions from press members. He said in his speech that his thoughts and prayers are with the members of the deceased and continued to say how both he and the Kraft family want the Patriots to represent their community’s best suits, and that’s why they acted so swiftly in the murder case in which Aaron Hernandez was involved.

Belichick also said that he is shocked and saddened by the whole incident and that both him and the entire team feel duped by Hernandez. He added that in a way he is responsible for every player signed and that his record of signing talented but sometimes troubled players backfired in this case.

Belichick also said that no major changes will be made to the drafting system; however, some small tweaks are expected. The speculation is that the small tweaks will mean a more in depth psychological profiling.

Bill Belichick also said that he had a hard time getting a grasp on the whole Aaron Hernandez case, and that the situation goes beyond football issues.
