BlackBerry 10: Ready to License
On Monday, a report was released by Research In Motion Ltd, saying that it is ready to license its new operating system, BlackBerry 10, to other manufacturers.
Thorsten Heins, Chief Executive Officer of RIM, claimed that they were in the last stages of testing the new operating system. Also, he added that the company considers the ways on how other manufacturers may use it in several products.
Heins told the Bloomberg News QNX was already licensed among the sector of automotives and that is also possible for the latest BlackBerry 10 if the company decided to do so. In New York, he said that the platform can be licensed after the final procedures are done.
The Ontario-based Research In Motion Ltd, Waterloo, is now looking forward to release its own line of gadgets that includes BlackBerry 10 in the first three months of 2013. Waterloo previously had problems regarding the decline of sales of Blackberry due to its competition such as iPhone of Apple Inc. and devices that includes Google Inc.’s Android software. The company is hoping that the new BlackBerry 10 would lift the sales of their devices after the problems that it faced.
