BlackBerry Has New Phone Planned For Holiday Season
With the release of the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 raising a lot of hype for the company, CEO Thorsten Heins says he is very excited about the new “flagship” phone that is planned to be released during this year’s holiday season.
In an interview conducted this week Heins said that the company is planning to release about 4 new products this fiscal year. He said that a mid-tier device will be released later this year while the big new phone will be launched sometime during the Holidays, even though it might not be out by years end.
While the industry and consumers are eagerly awaiting the new phones, Heins says he is more concerned with expanding their product portfolio. He continued saying that the company want to have three tier phones, each one with a touch screen and a Qwerty option, a strategy which he called a “one-two punch”.
The BlackBerry models will have the same display size as the Z10, respectively 4.2 inches or the Q10 which has half the size of the Z10.
The reason behind the keeping the same size and resolution to their products is that BlackBerry wants developers that make apps to keep a consistent theme throughout the future of their products.
