Buyers Can Preorder Two Units Of The Apple Watch

Consumers can purchase two units of the Apple Watch following its launch at midnight on April 10. There were speculations indicating that buyers will be limited to one unit of the smartwatch when they preorder it from Apple.

The online ordering procedure of Apple cleared up everything since buyers can select two units of the device. Preorders for the wearable technology of Apple were accepted starting 12:01 AM PT. Deliveries of these devices are expected to be made starting April 24. The smartwatch will also be officially released into the market on this date.

Interested buyers will have to preorder the device through the reservation system of the company since they will not be able to make their orders from the store like the iPad and iPhone. Since inventory will initially be tight, Apple indicated that preorders for online buyers will be limited.

The senior vice president for retail and online stores of Apple, Angela Ahrendts, said customer demand for the device is expected to exceed its supplies when the device is launched. The company is also taking orders for the smartwatch through the internet during the launch period in order to provide numerous options and the best experience to as many customers as possible.

The smartwatch is the first new product category of the company since the release of the iPad in 2010. It is also the first product under the watch of Tim Cook, who said the company will launch new products into the market as well as enter new product segments.

The smartwatch has three designs: an aluminum Apple Watch Sport, a stainless steel Apple Watch and an 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition. The aluminum-encased model features a space grey and silver option, while the stainless steel will come in stainless steel and spaced black variants. The gold-encased model will have a yellow gold and a rose gold version.

The entry of Apple into the smartwatch market is considered late since a number of companies are already put their hat into the ring, including Huawei, Pebble, Motorola, Samsung and Sony. The Apple Watch was initially announced in September and was described by Tim Cook as a “comprehensive” health and fitness gadget with smartphone features and a remote control for the streaming device of the company.
