Cameron Douglas Beaten In Prison

Reports say that Cameron Douglas, son of Michael Douglas and grandson of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas was severely beaten in prison after pleading guilty and being sentenced back in 2010 to a serve five years for distribution of crystal meth and possession of heroin.

An additional 4 and a half years were added to the sentence after Cameron Douglas was found guilty of smuggling drugs inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.

Rumors say that Cameron Douglas suffered his injuries, which include a broken femur, after an important criminal leader offered a significant financial reward for an attack on him. The reason behind the attack was that Cameron Douglas was a supposed “rat”.

The additional 4 and a half year sentence was judged by the “New York Times” to be one of the harshest ever dealt to a prisoner accused of drug possession. In most cases prisoners caught with drugs in correctional facilities lose privileges or suffer some light administrative sanctions.

Sources inside the New York Correctional Center also suggested that the actors injuries, presumably obtained after a handball match were deliberately misdiagnosed, “You don’t break a femur playing handball … He’s still walking around on crutches two months later.” Cameron Douglas who is 34 years old, is serving his sentence in a  Pennsylvania prison.
