Celebrity house burglar Rachel Lee sentenced to 4 years imprisonment
Los Angeles — A woman was sentenced Tuesday to 4 years imprisonment despite pleading not guilty for charges of breaking into the house of Audrina Patridge, a reality TV starlet. The convicted suspect is Rachel Lee. She has been the 2nd person to be sentenced and convicted for breaking-in at the homes of celebrities.
Lee has been part of the group called Bling Ring and targets high-end homes valued for more than $3 million. The group had targeted before the homes of Hollywood celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan before members of the group were interrupted and arrested by the police late 2009.
In January 2010, Lee, 21 years old, was arrested for charges of burglary at Patridge’s home in Hollywood Hills. The breaking-in incident happened in February 2009. Lee was able to steal designer clothing, jewelries, shoes, and luggage worth more than $25,000, according to L.A. County District Attorney.
Despite already convicted, the amount to be paid by Lee will still be determined in a future date hearing. Lee was also put to trial for breaking-in into Lohan’s house but was later on dismissed by the judge. 4 other members of the group have also been arrested including the leader Nicholas Prugo but are still waiting for their trials.
