China And Russia Say Human Trafficking Report Is Flawed

China and Russia didn’t seemed too pleased by a recent report the United States released on human trafficking that said both countries have the worst results in battling against sex traffic and forced or underage labor.

The report was released this Wednesday and placed Russia and China next to dictatorial countries like North Korea and Iran when it came to measures taken to prevent human trafficking.

A representative of the Chinese government said that the report was arbitrary and that Washington should review the way it formulates its reports and try to construct them in an objective and impartial way.

The foreign minister of Russia said that the list was flawed and based on the way the U.S. sympathizes the countries that populate the list.

The controversial report says that nearly one million people are exploited when it comes to their working conditions in Russia, like not being paid or working in dangerous or unsanitary conditions.

The same report said that China was a destination, a transit country and a source for the trafficking of women and children. The reason behind the trafficking is most often sex slavery. The same report that upset China and Russia said that because of the one child policy the Chinese government imposed the number of men reaching marrying age far outweighs that of women, leading to higher numbers of human trafficking.
