Christie Brinkley Wary About Questions On Possible Marriage With John Mellencamp

During a recent appearance o the SiriusXM show of Howard Stern, Christie Brinkley discussed her relationship with John Mellencamp. The discussion also delved into whether the 61-year-old supermodel will marry the 64-year-old rocker or not.

Brinkley was cautious about the question after having going through four divorces with the most recent was her 2008 divorce from Peter Cook. She said she was wary about discussing her relationship since she did not want to “jinx it.” She added that she had the feeling of being dragged through the press and she did not want it to happen again.

But, Christie Brinkley said musicians were her type. She was previously married to Billy Joel until 1994 and the two have a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel. She considers artists “as the most amazing people” since they are continuously making beauty for the world. She added that artists remind people of their humanity and the hearts and souls are what really matters. Due to this, the supermodel considers music as the “ultimate art.”

However, Brinkley said it was necessary for the "Jack & Diane" singer to break his smoking habit before they can get married.

Brinkley said Mellencamp has to break the habit since his “voice is already made” after Stern said smoking made the voice of the singer sound better. She added that the habit should stop and it was amazing how the body heals. Brinkley also said the body can be repaired despite all the years of abuse it has gone through.

The two are also not shy about showing affection for each other when it came to their relationship. The couple was seen at the Scalinatella restaurant in New York City last month while on a romantic date. An onlooker said Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp appeared to have fallen in love with each other and the supermodel was happy as she giggled with the singer.
