Claire Danes Discusses Controversy Involving Billy Crudup

The controversy surrounding the relationship of Claire Danes and Billy Crudup still lingers even after more than a decade. Crudup left Mary-Louise Parker for the Homeland star even though Parker was pregnant.

The 36-year-old Danes talked about the controversy at the Sirius XM show of Howard Stern recently. Crudup and Parker were dating for eight years and were expecting their first child. However, Crudup broke up with Parker after he met Danes during the filming of “Stage Beauty.” Parker was already seven months pregnant during this time.

Danes, who is already married to Hugh Dancy, said she was in love with the 47-year-old actor at this time. She added that she wanted to explore and had no idea about the consequences of the situation since she was only 24 years old.

Claire Danes also said the public backlash was scary and it was difficult for her to deal with. She added that she did not know how to avoid it. Parker is set to publish a book on November 1. The book “Dear Mr. You” is presumed to clarify some details about the controversy. The story of the 51-year-old actress will be revealed through a series of letters for the most significant men who became a part of her life.

On the other hand, Danes said she is already at peace with what happened. She indicated that it was fine and she went through it. She said she is friendly with Crudup. The two went out for three years before they split up in 2006. Claire Danes tied the knot with Dancy in 2009 and have one child, Cyrus.
