Dallas Cowboy’s Josh Brent Charged With Manslaughter
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was charged with manslaughter and drunk driving after an accident this Saturday where the lineman flipped his car and in the process killed teammate Jerry Brown.
Police reports that the incident happened at about 02.00 AM this past Saturday, in a Dallas suburb with Josh Brent as the driver. Police also reports the Dallas linebacker Jerry Brown was found unconscious at the scene of the accident and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
This is the second week in a row where a terrible accident casts a gloomy shadow over an approaching game after last week Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his wife and committed suicide.
Josh Brent and Jerry Brown seemed to have joined other teammates a night before at an outing to Dallas club Private where comedian Shawn Wayans was performing.
A statement was released to the press Saturday night. "I am devastated and filled with grief for the loss of my close friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. I am also grief-stricken for his family, friends and all who were blessed enough to have known him.I will live with this horrific and tragic loss every day for the rest of my life. My prayers are with his family, our teammates and his friends at this time.” Josh Brent said.
