Even with the Dallas Cowboys not winning a single trophy in almost two decades, they still ranked number one in a Forbes countdown of the NFL’s richest teams.

With soccer being considered the most popular sport in the world, the NFL has proven itself yet again as the richest. The Cowboys lead the ranking for the richest teams in the NFL for the seventh time in a row with a net worth of $2.3 billion.

The entire top averaged a $1.17 billion for every one of the 32 teams that play in the league. This marks a 5 percent increase since 2012 and a growing difference from soccer whose top 20 teams are worth on average $968 million per team.

The Cowboys seem to have every aspect of a functional football team running except the very important task of winning a championship. While they might not have much to show as far as trophies, the Texas based team is doing very well financially renaming their stadium as the AT&T Stadium for a duration of 20 years for the incredible sum of half a billion dollars.

The Dallas Cowboys aren't the only team in the Forbes list doing well, with the second place being held by the New England Patriots with a net worth of $1.8 billion and the third by the Washington Redskins with $1.7 billion.
