“Dancing With The Stars” Season 21 Cast Includes Train Hero Alek Skarlatos
The cast of “Dancing With The Stars” season 21 will include Alek Skarlatos, who averted a potential terrorist attack in a train in Europe. In addition to Skarlatos, the show will include wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin and celebrity chef Paula Deen.
ABC initially built up anticipating by releasing a number of names of the cast, including Irwin, Andy Grammer, Chaka Khan, Nick Carter and Hayes Grier. However, the company finally released the complete list of celebrity dancers on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Army National Guard member was among the biggest revelation for the show. He made headlines last month after he helped in preventing a potential terrorist attack while on vacation. Skarlotos was on board a train together with Anthony Sadler and Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone when they subdued a man holding a rifle with help from a British national and a Frenchman.
“Dancing With The Stars” season 21 will also have reality television star Tamar Braxton of “Braxton Family Values." Braxton is also the producer of “The Real.” Kim Zolciak Biermann of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" will also join the cast.
The other celebrities joining the show are actor Alexa PenaVega, actor/singer Carlos PenaVega, actor Gary Busey and jockey Victor Espinoza. Alexa and Carlos PenaVega are the first married couple to go up against each other in the show. Espinosa is known for riding American Pharoah in getting the first Triple Crown win in over three decades. Season 20 of the show was won by Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Willis is the daughter of Demi Moor and Bruce Willis. Second place went to Riker Lynch while Noah Galloway placed third in the competition. Other participants in season 20 included RedFoo, Michael Sam and Patti LaBelle.
“Dancing With The Stars” season 21 is set to premiere on September 14.
