Davone Bess And Cleveland Browns End Contract
Davone Bess ended what was a disastrous season by being released from the Cleveland Browns. Receiver Davone Bess had a pretty bad year on and off the field that ended with him and the Cleveland Browns ending their collaboration.
Bess was first arrested this January for assaulting a law enforcement officer while passing through an airport in Florida. His stats also show that on the field, Bess was far from being a star player. He ended last season with the lowest figures of his career for catches, registering only 42 and and just 362 yards.
His lack of form hurt the Browns on several occasion making a stronger case for ending his contract. In an interview given last month, Bess told reporters that he has yet to talk to anyone at the front office of the club and does not know their official position towards him. He added that he is getting better both on and off the field.
Bass played his first five years in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins. His contract with the Browns came with an immediate three year, $11.5 million extension. The Browns owe Bess a guaranteed $3.06 million for 2014 regardless of his future with their organization, however, due to his inappropriate behavior off the field, the Cleveland team might recoup some of the money.
