Denver Broncos Loses To Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Colts set a date with the New England Patriots for the AFC championship after beating the Denver Broncos recently.

The two touchdowns thrown by Andrew Luck were enough for Indianapolis to get the win, 24-13 against the Broncos of Peyton Manning. Luck said they played good team ball and were making enough plays in offense to add to their points. The defeat of the Broncos may have raised questions on the future of Manning on the team along with John Fox, the coach of the team.

The playoffs this year is considered among the worst performances of Manning as he was limited to a single touchdown and frequently overthrew receivers.

The Denver Broncos for this year was more balanced than the previous seasons with TJ Ward, Aqib Talib and DeMarcus Ware were added into the lineup. Despite this, Denver was unable to prevent another playoff loss. Twenty-seven of forty-three passes of Luck were completed for a total of 265 yards, including the two TDs.

Luck threw 72 yards in eleven plays after the half as Indianapolis increased its lead from four points to eleven at 21-10. While Denver had a second interception by Rahim Moore, they were forced to settle for a field goal.

The cool temperature at the Sports Authority Field worked in favor of Luck, who is 5-1 when the temperature is 40 or lower. The game was close before the half, but the adjustments of Denver after halftime did not work well for the team. The Colts took control of the game in the second half as Manning struggled for form during the game.

Manning started strong in the game after he completed three passes in the first drive of the Denver Broncos, but he later made seven overthrows along with a pair of drops by Demaryius Thomas.
