Diabetes Breakthrough discovered by Israeli Scientists

Diabetes breakthrough. Recent breakthrough in the study of diabetes was announced by a team of scientists from Soroka Medical Centre and Ben Gurion University from the Negev desert in Israel Tuesday. The group of Israeli scientists discovered that by soaking 20 minutes in the Dead Sea, a person with diabetes may lower his blood sugar level significantly.

For Type 2 Diabetes control experiment group, 14 individuals participated with age ranging from 18 to 65 years old. All showed significant and tremendous drop in blood sugar levels after soaking 20 minutes in the Dead Sea. The glucose or sugar levels of the 14 individuals who participated in the research dropped from an average of 163 milligrams per deciliter to 151 mg/dl immediately after 20 minutes, according to the latest report. After soaking for an hour in the Dead Sea, the result was even more desirable as the average blood sugar levels of the 14 individuals dropped further to 141. 3 mg/dl, a 13.3% drop from their original average of 163 mg/dl.

The bathing and soaking experience by the 14 individuals has not affected other values in the blood such as cortisone hormones or c-peptide and levels of insulin, the Israeli researchers said. 6 healthy individuals from another control group did not have any adverse effect in their blood sugar levels before and after the experiment. Shaul Sukenik, the team lead of the Israeli researchers, said that the recent diabetes breakthrough is very promising and will surely give way to more discoveries in the future.
