Disney Plans Second “Incredibles” and Third “Cars” Movie
Bob Iger, Disney CEO announced this Tuesday that Pixar will release a sequel to the popular “Incredibles” animated movie as well as a third instalment in the hugely successful “Cars” saga. According to the CEO “Incredibles” creator Brad Bird is already hard at work drafting the story-line of the new movie.
Those weren't the only subjects Iger touched on as he also declared that “Frozen” is very close to overcoming Toy Story 3 as the biggest animation of all time. The CEO also talked about the highly anticipated Star Wars movie the company is planning. According to Iger, the movie will take place 30 years after the events of the last part, filmed in 1983.
This will allow for former cast members Mark Hamil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher to reprise their roles. While the news came directly from Iger himself, he didn’t assert that that will be the final version of the Star Wars script.
Iger also talked about a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie that is being worked on, even though it has yet to be given the green light.
Regarding Frozen’s immensely successful run at the box office, Iger was confident that it can surpass Toy Story 3, which was released in 2010 and is to date the biggest animation of all time. Currently Frozen earned $1,027 billion worldwide while Toy Story 3 earned $1.063 billion.
