Dwyane Wade May Leave Miami
Dwyane Wade talked about his career with the Heat in the past tense on national television last Tuesday. The statement may have given Miami fans something to be anxious about, and recent reports have given indications at the possibility that the Miami Heat shooting guard may play for another team in the coming season.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated tweeted about the mutual interest between the player and the LA Lakers. Wade has played all twelve seasons with Miami. While it is possible for Wade to opt out of his contract and become available as a free agent, Miami would rather have him opt in.
The Lakers has more than $20 million to use in the free agent market over the summer. Since Kobe Bryant is already in the final season of his contract, the team may want to use the money to catch a good player in the free agent market. Although putting Dwyane Wade and Bryant in the same lineup may not be ideal since both of them play the same position, it may work out in the end with the current small-ball era of the NBA. With the addition of Wade, the Lakers will have another go-to player in its lineup.
But, it may also be possible for Wade to join LeBron James in Cleveland. An Instagram post showed Wade wearing a Cleveland shirt while at a church in Miami.
The father of Wade, Dwyane Wade Sr. also said in an Internet radio interview that D-Wade has been with Miami ever since he entered the league, and it remains uncertain if he will stay with the team till the end.
The answer of the older Wade to a question from a listener shows that he wants his son to stay in Miami. However, he also hinted that his son may have stayed with Miami long enough and it may be possible for him to play for another team in the next season. For the moment, it remains uncertain if Dwyane Wade will remain with Miami or he will wear a different uniform in the upcoming season.
While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources.

Hard to see LA offering Wade a better chance to win than Miami, especially in the West. But it is LA, and they do have money to burn.
