Egyptian Military Forces Take Action Against Muslim Brotherhood

Just a day after the Egyptian Military has intervened and ended Mohamed Morsi’s run as president, it seems that they will also be moving against Muslim Brotherhood leaders.

Alongside now former president Morsi key figures in the Muslim Brotherhood have been detained with tens even hundreds of other members being sought out.

Adly Mahmud Mansour, the leading judge of Egypt’s constitutional court will be acting president until the situation is cleared up. After he was instated the acting president said that elections will be held and that the true voice of the Egyptian people will be herd.

The remaining leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, who were accused of ignoring the economic turmoil of the country and pursuing instead their own Islamist agenda said that they will not work with the new powers but that they won’t encourage riots and violence either.

The army intervention didn’t stop at placing President Mohamed Morsi and his entire team under house arrest, but they also raided a number of TV stations and stopped the printing of pro Muslim Brotherhood newspapers.

The Egyptian military forces said they will institute a number of “capable” technocrats until parliamentary and presidential elections are held and suspend the much debated Morsi constitution as some of their first measures.
