Electronic Spy Post Reportedly Operated By Britain

An electronic spy post network is reportedly being operated by the surveillance agency of Britain basing in documents divulged by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. Reports indicated that the network was close to the office of the German chancellor and the Bundestag.

The documents hinted at the operation of a covert listening station by Britain near the office of Chancellor Angela Merkel and the German parliament. The same documents, together with aerial images and data on previous espionage activities in Germany, indicated that the electronic spy post utilized high-tech equipment located on the roof of the embassy.

The espionage operation was conducted by the GCHQ inside diplomatic buildings located in numerous places around the world. The operation aimed at intercepting information in host nations, and was being implemented together a number of key partners including the United States.

Massive surveillance activities were being conducted by European spy agencies on phone and internet traffic. These operations are similar to the activities conducted by the United States, and were condemned by governments across Europe.

The espionage activities resulted to resentment in Germany following allegations on the monitoring activities by the US National Security Agency on the mobile phone of Chancellor Merkel. Germany is a close US ally.

No statements were released by GCHQ on its reported espionage operations through an electronic spy post.
