ESPN Anchor Flirting with New England Patriot Wes Welker?

When Tuesday edition of "SportsCenter" was about to be cut off from the air, Steve Weissman jokingly told his married co-anchor that she seemed to be flirting with Wes Welker during her earlier interview with him. So what would you expect?

The anchorwoman, Sage Steele, was baffled, rolled her eyes, looked off the camera nervously and glared at Weissman as the credits roll.  Such are the disadvantages of live television.

Steele wasn't embarrassed at the suggestion of her flirting with Weissman.  No, she blushed because the assertion itself was so ridiculous.

When Weissman suggested she flirted with Welker, she didn’t say "Hey, I'm married and have three kids" look as much as she said "Seriously? Did you watch that interview? I stumbled over his name, rambled questions about Gisele and then asked him whether he received advice for his wedding.  That was Chris Farley with Paul McCartney awkward. If that's flirting, I feel sorry for the women you meet in bars, Steve Weissman.”

Steele’s reaction could mean a lot of things.  She could be shooting daggers at him, nobody knows. The only thing that is clear is that tones and looks from the opposite sex could mean a lot to different people.
