Fans Get “Veronica Mars” Movie Update
Fans of the “Veronica Mars” series got another update from stars Kristen Bell and Enrico Colantoni and show creator Rob Thomas about how the movie that is supposed to tie up all the loose ends is going.
The series that lasted only three seasons wasn't a giant success but it did manage to gather a fantastically loyal crowd of followers, that helped raise $5.7 million with the help of Kickstarter thus convincing Warner Bros to make the big screen movie.
The sum was even bigger than the $3.5 million the show’s creator Rob Thomas budgeted, a budget that represented approximately the cost of two episodes.
The 90,000 backers got treated with tons of cool gifts ranging from copies of the script to T-shirts and even lines if the movie for bigger donors.
While the initial script was about Veronica’s college graduation it changed over time becoming her 10 year reunion.
In the press conference, director Rob Thomas compared the movie’s script to that of “Godfather III” saying it shows how Veronica is brought back into a life that she thought was over.
Kristen Bell said she was very excited when shooting began and talked about how her first scene with Jason Dorhing gave her a “Twilight Zone” feel because she couldn't believe she was actually playing Veronica Mars again.
