Pictures of Benedict Cumberbatch were posted recently showing how he would look when he plays the role of Doctor Strange in an upcoming movie. The pictures showed Cumberbatch looking like the Marvel Comics super hero created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee.

Cumberbatch had all the elements of the superhero on the picture complete with the actor seemingly casting a spell using his fingers. The actor takes on the role of Dr. Stephen Strange who discovers another world filled with magic and alternate dimensions after a disastrous car accident.

In addition to Cumberbatch, the cast of the upcoming movie includes Mads Mikkelsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg and Tilda Swinton. Filming of the movie already started in November. Mikkelsen will play the role of the main villain of the movie. This was confirmed by producer Kevin Feige and executive producer Stephen Broussard.

Feige said the character played by Mikkelsen is a sorcerer who establishes his own sect. He thinks the Ancient One is safeguarding her power base and the world can benefit when some things are allowed to go through. Swinton plays the role of the Ancient One on Doctor Strange.

Filming of the movie is not expected to be completed before March next year. Despite this, industry watchers are looking for similarities between Doctor Strange and another character played by Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock Holmes.

Cumberbatch said they are still at the infancy stage of the movie and he continues to find different poses for the character as well as the spells and the things the character is supposed to do in the upcoming movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch added that there are numerous speculations on how the finger is supposed to be positioned when his character is casting a spell. He said he is still working on it and they have yet to play some of the scenes. While he felt unsure of himself, Cumberbatch said everything will work out in the end.

Aside from the cover image, a number of images showing a side view of the super hero were posted online along with some concept art of the actor following the car accident of the character. Doctor Strange is expected to hit the big screen in the United States and the United Kingdom on November 4 and October 28, respectively.
