Harrison Ford May Return For Next “Indiana Jones” Movie
Earlier reports indicated that Bradley Cooper was among the actors being considered to serve as the replacement for Harrison Ford as the lead actor in the “Indiana Jones” movie franchise. The report indicated that it remains uncertain if Ford will come back for a fifth “Indiana Jones” movie or the movie will feature a new actor taking up the title role of the adventure-loving professor.
However, a source revealed that there were no plans in changing the lead actor for the franchise. This means Cooper is not being considered as replacement for Ford in the movie. Representatives of Frank Marshall, producer of the movie, and Cooper have not released any statements in connection to the reports.
The original report indicated that the fate of the upcoming movie have been discussed for a number of years, and Harrison Ford was assumed to take up the title role of the movie.
George Lucas had said prior to the release of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" that Ford is the character. He said that if the actor was not in the movie, it would have a different title.
Harrison Ford revealed a year ago that he may still take up the role even with his age. The report indicated that the development and growth of the character has been observed over a number of years, and it is fitting for the actor to reprise the role of the adventure-loving professor. Ford may not have to have numerous action sequences in the movie. The actor is turning 72 in July.
However, another report indicated that the opportunity for the actor to play the title role may be closing. It may be possible for the studio to replace Harrison Ford with a younger actor to play Dr. Jones in the upcoming “Indiana Jones 5” and create a new trilogy for the movie franchise.
